Ich blickte aus dem Fenster des Flugzeuges. Die karge Landschaft um Phoenix war dem üppigen Grün der Olympic Halbinsel gewichen.
Ich seufzte.
In zehn Minuten würden wir landen.
Ich kam heim – nach zwei Monaten selbst auferlegter Abstinenz.
Es war das richtige. Es war das Richtige.
Ich wiederholte mein Mantra, welches mich die letzten Wochen begleitet hatte.
Es wäre nicht gut gegangen. Es war besser so. Du hast dir damit Kummer erspart.
Ich versuchte daran zu glauben. In Phoenix – weit weg von allem – war es mir ganz gut gelungen. Aber jeder Schritt weiter Richtung Forks schnürte mir die Kehle zusammen.
Morgen ging die Schule wieder los.
Bei dem Gedanken ihn wiederzusehen spürte ich einen Schmerz in der Brust.
Es war das richtige. Es war das Richtige.
Ich musste einfach daran glauben, denn von dem was ich getan hatte gab es kein zurück.
Es war unwiderruflich.
Es war das Ende.
